The envoy or the head of the delegation is seated in the palanquin carried by bearers. Korea sent a total of 12 delegations to Japan during the reign of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The last visit took place in 1811. The students organized the parade as part of events marking the FIFA 2002 World Cup finals co-hoted by Japan and South Korea.
